A key component of SpatLab is the development of research-oriented geospatial data repositories that support scientific research, education, and software development.
One of the laboratory's primary objectives is to curate and preserve high-quality datasets developed by students as part of their undergraduate and graduate research projects. Subject to legal, licensing, and confidentiality requirements, selected datasets will be made available for future research, teaching, and reproducible scientific studies.
In parallel, SpatLab develops automated 24/7 data acquisition workflows that continuously collect, integrate, and archive dynamic geospatial information. These include mobile, sensor-derived, web-based, and other time-sensitive datasets whose long-term preservation enables longitudinal analyses, methodological research, and the development of next-generation geospatial applications.
